1. Introduction
Otovault is a car listing marketplace designed to connect auto dealers, vendors, and buyers in Nigeria. To maintain trust, transparency, and professionalism, all dealers and vendors are required to comply with the following guidelines.
2. Objectives of the Guidelines
- To establish a benchmark standard for car listings.
- To ensure integrity and transparency in all dealings.
- To protect the reputation of Otovault from misuse or misconduct.
- To encourage grassroots job creation through vendor participation.
3. Eligibility for Listing
3.1 Dealer Requirements
- Must be a registered auto dealer in Nigeria.
- Must provide valid business identification (CAC registration, dealer license, or equivalent).
- Must comply with Nigerian automobile trading laws.
3.2 Individual Vendor Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Can list a maximum of 4 cars at one time.
- Must provide valid proof of identification (e.g., National ID, Driver’s License, or Voter’s Card).
4. General Rules of Conduct
- All listings must reflect honesty, accuracy, and transparency.
- Dealers/vendors must not misrepresent
- Use of abusive, fraudulent, or misleading content is strictly prohibited.
- Dealers/vendors are expected to uphold the integrity and reputation of Otovault.
5. Car Listing Standards
5.1 Mandatory Vehicle Information
Each listing must include:
- Make (e.g., Toyota, Honda)
- Model (e.g., Corolla, Civic)
- Year of manufacture
- Mileage (in km)
- Condition (new, foreign used, locally used)
- Transmission type (automatic/manual)
- Engine type (petrol/diesel/hybrid/electric)
- Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) if available
- Color (interior & exterior)
- Price (fixed or negotiable)
- Location of vehicle
5.2 Image Requirements
- Minimum of 6 clear images of the car:
- Front view
- Rear view
- Side views (left and right)
- Interior (dashboard, seats)
- Engine bay
- Images must be real and unedited.
- Watermarked or stock images are not allowed.
5.3 Pricing and Transparency
- Prices must be clearly stated in Naira (₦).
- Hidden charges are prohibited.
- Dealers/vendors must disclose if the vehicle is accidented, flood-damaged, or repaired.
5.4 Accuracy of Information
- All details provided must be factually correct.
- Any detected false information may lead to instant disapproval of the listing.
6. Prohibited Listings
- Stolen vehicles.
- Vehicles with forged documentation.
- Incomplete or misleading descriptions.
- Duplicate listings of the same car.
7. Data Collection, Cookies & Privacy
- Otovault may collect data of individuals or activities on the website without prior notice.
- Cookies may be used to improve performance and user experience.
- All users agree to data collection as part of site usage.
8. Integrity and Reputation Protection
- Dealers/vendors are expected to maintain professional ethics.
- Any dent on Otovault’s reputation due to a dealer’s misconduct may result in suspension or permanent banning.
9. Vendor & Dealer Responsibilities
- Ensure timely updates of listings (sold cars must be removed immediately).
- Maintain clear communication with prospective buyers.
- Provide truthful and complete documentation for each vehicle.
10. Admin Rights and Enforcement
- Otovault reserves the right to approve, edit, or disapprove any listing.
- Admins may remove suspicious or fraudulent listings without prior notice.
11. Job Creation Through Vendor Participation
- Individuals who cannot operate as full dealers can participate as vendors by listing up to 4 cars at a time.
- This initiative creates grassroots income opportunities and supports entrepreneurship.
12. Penalties and Bans for Misconduct
- First Offense: Warning + listing removal.
- Second Offense: 30-day suspension.
- Third Offense: Permanent ban from the platform.
13. Approval and Disapproval Criteria
Approval
- Complete information provided.
- High-quality, real images.
- Transparent and fair pricing.
Disapproval
- Incomplete details.
- Misleading descriptions.
- Poor or stock images.
- Violation of prohibited listing rules.
14. Review and Updates of Guidelines
- These guidelines will be reviewed periodically to adapt to industry best practices.
Dealers and vendors will be notified of updates via the platform.
